Dry Erase Poster Quotes

We often get asked for quotes for our dry erase poster products. In addition to the sticky back dry erase posters referred to in our pricing table on our home page, we can also make dry erase posters that do not have sticky back. These dry erase posters are much cheaper at high volumes because we use offset printing and then roll dry erase laminating film. Please ask us to quote your project if you don't see what you want on our pricing table. Or ask us if there is a cheaper way to produce what is on our pricing tables.

Below we list actual back and forth communications regarding dry erase poster jobs.

YOUR QUOTE:

True dry erase posters 36*48 are expensive and come with low tack adhesive back which you can use or not (don't peel the backing off):

5/$270 shipped

20/$933 shipped

There are a couple of cheaper alternatives:
1. Use gloss laminate and hand pick the dry erase markers that work with it:

5/$167 shipped

20/$412 shipped

(Many dry erase markers work, some don't. So test some. Generally, if you wait until completely dry, the whole thing can be cleaned up with rubbing alcohol)

2. Print on display board (24pt - thick) then laminate with dry erase film (these are not sticky back)

5/$270 shipped

20/$656 shipped

Mike,
Your quote looks good, but I have a couple of questions re the order.
First, we only need it printed on one side. Please provide pricing for one side, all other details the same.
And, the price you provided in your quote includes the shipping. Is that correct?

Second, do you have a dealer packet with samples that we can use with our customers.

Third: What is the turnaround time once you have the order?

Fourth: What is the price of artwork if you do it? It is a horizontal 2015 calendar with the customer logo and address at the top. If we do the artwork, what format do you accept? Do you have a page with artwork specs?

Thank you for your assistance.

1. Wonderful - take $205 off all the prices for 1 side print. I guess I wrote 2 sides by mistake. The prices are good all September, we don't have access to poster sales beyond that point. And the prices do include ground ship to your zip.

2. We do have tons of sample packs, some items have our name on them, but there is plenty in their that is not branded with our name. We can send several.

3. This is not a fast turn item, for sure. This involves 2 of our facilities. Poster print is 4 to 5 days. Lamination is probably 3 days. Then ground ship from Ohio is probably another 4 days. We have many items that don't need to go through Ohio and have very fast turns.

4. Re. layout, if you want to go here:

http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/?year=2015&country=1

I believe the output is vector if you print and save as pdf.

There are 3 buttons along the top with customization: quick design, formatting, more options with drop down menus.

Play around with that and see if you come up with something you like.

OK?

Let me price this out with dry erase laminate first and see where that price comes in at. If it is too much, we have other tricks we can try - regular gloss lam and some coatings that work as long as you wipe them clean after use (not the next day).

Sorry, it has been crazy. Hope you still need these numbers:

13 36x48's all different on:

coro $410 shipped

pvc $590 shipped

foamcore w/ lam $780

styrene $520

(in many cases above you will be able to get 14 of each and you will still have 7 24x48 pieces left to do with what you want for another $25 for custom cut fee). Also, if you can make your pieces 32x48", that will save a lot of money too.

Coro is the cheapest, but I'd like to preview the art first to see if we don't need to use something with a smoother surface.

And

4x8 dry erase with backing $193 with ship

No problem at all. I believe foam core is a terrible choice, it is just too easy to ding or form impressions. The extra lamination will also make it more expensive than coroplast.

I should ask what the prints are of. If they are nice art, I might recommend something different than coro. If they are illustrations/line drawings like the performance board, then all will be fine.

Let me know or send me a file to preview.

Thank you for your material considerations and suggestions. If the posters could be produced on Foamcore we were planning to have them laminated(if not part of the mounting process already) to add some durability, they will not be handled at all so durability is not too much of a concern(The biggest material concerns are dust and dirt protection). I do however believe that the options you suggested will work as well depending on cost, so a price for coroplast, PVC, and 30pt styrene as well as Foamcore w/ lamination would be much appreciated if possible. I apologize for the hassle but I am slightly new to the sign production world and having a few options to choose from would be very beneficial.

The cheapest material to put these posters on is coroplast, it is hardier than foam core, but it has those ridges. Are you familiar with coro - ubiquitous in the yard sign world?

We print right onto our materials with a flatbed printer. After coro comes foam core in price and then sintra pvc. Sintra is a bit more expensive, but is smooth and lasts a long time. All these are 1/8" to 1/4" in thickness.

I would only use foam core if these are throwaways.

If you want something thinner, we have 30pt styrene. That is credit card thickness.

Let me know your thoughts thus far.

Hello Mike,

Removable adhesive is great for the larger one and the smaller ones are all different art with no backside adhesive and they do need not need to be dry erase but do need to be laminated. Do you know if a magnetic pull will still be present through the dry erase decal for the larger one I know this is probably dependent on the strength of the magnet behind the decal but any experience or suggestions you have with applying these decals to magnetic surfaces would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Hello, IÂ’m off site right now so I can only ask questions right now.

Our posters for the big one come with removable adhesive, is that ok?

For the smaller posters, is the art the same for all? And do these need to be dry erase? Any backside adhesive?

Let me know,

Hello,

I was looking to get a quote on a sticker overlay for a magnetic dry erase board at size 48”x72”. I am not sure wh material would be best for the overlay and am open to suggestions but the board needs to maintain its dry-erase wipe off surface and magnetic pull through the overlay (other than that cost is the biggest factor for material selection). I am attaching a digital pdf. copy of the file (at correct scale) but please let me know if any additional information is required.

Also I was looking to quote 13 posters that need to be color printed at size 36”x48” and mounted on your thinnest foamcore (or another comparably cheap material) and laminated.

Thank you for your time and attention,

I can provide these with edge seal (clear ring around the poster) or trimmed right to the print edge. The latter is a wee bit cheaper; the former won't allow water to which in from the sides and, thus, is more waterproof.

QUOTE with dry erase lamination both sides:

Option 1.

Printing & Laminate 2 side TRIM FLUSH (25” x 38”) final size is 24x36

500 $1330 shipped

Option 2.

Print & Laminate 2 sides with Edge Seal (size 24” x 36 before lamination, 24.25x36.25 afte lamination)

500 $1398 shipped

Let me know which you would prefer.

I should ask what the prints are of. If they are nice art, I might recommend something different than coro. If they are illustrations/line drawings like the performance board, then all will be fine.

Thank you for your material considerations and suggestions. If the posters could be produced on Foamcore we were planning to have them laminated(if not part of the mounting process already) to add some durability, they will not be handled at all so durabilityis not too much of a concern(The biggest material concerns are dust and dirt protection).

Thank you,

Thanks. So you have 1 art file and you want 200 copies made with dry erase laminate? If so, we have 2 cheaper options and 1 not so cheap option.

Cheap:

1 side dry erase laminated posters printed on poster paper (100# gloss text, like brochure paper)

2 sided dry erase laminated posters printed on poster paper (100# gloss text, like brochure paper)

Not so cheap:

Dry erase laminated posters with low tack sticky back

Please let me know if this is about right and preview your art so we can see how best to print it.

I've been trying to work my way to your project since you emailed earlier this week.

I believe you wanted this product:

1 side dry erase laminate

200 16x20 on 100# gloss text $498

Unfortunately those take 8 to 12 business days since we print then laminate.

We have others that are much more expensive that we could get to you by then.

I will see about rushing the print portion. And since you need 120 of two pieces of art, the price will go up a bit.

Your proofs are attached.

Let me know your thoughts,

Guess what though - I don't think you need true dry erase for those prints. For the up arrow one you would just keep filling the arrow up over time towards your goal. For the piece with the boots on it, you don't really need to erase the previous boot out either.

Let me price that out for you. All you need is something that won't allow a marker to go through the poster and not color the wall behind it.

I'll get back to you.

Thanks,

Hi Mike,

Unfortunately we want to do dry erase posters for this project as it is was we have agreed upon with the retailers so we donÂ’t have any wiggle room with that, apologies.

I will shoot you an email though when we have the order with more lead time on it. Thanks!

We're quoting 600 8.25x11.5 pieces printed both sides on 3mm pvc with dryerase laminate on 1 side and ship. We come up with $2544. The product would be about 125pt thick.

PVC is printed on wide format printers, 4mm coroplast would be cheaper; but the surface of coroplast isn't very smooth. Foam core would cost about the same; but gets dinged to easily.

There are other approaches to print these (laser or offset press) that would be cheaper; but the thickness would end up being only around 20pt to 30pt. Let us know if you are open to that.

Let us know your thoughts so we can solve your puzzle appropriately.

How much do you think this order would cost?

Material: Either PVC or hard foam with laminate so that dryerase pen may
be used to write on.

So, double sided around A4 format.

Making progress here. An option would be for us to print two 16pt pieces, 8.5x11, on one side each, then stick them together and add dry eraselamination to one side.

That would cost about $980 shipped for 600 pieces and they would be about 35pt to 40pt thick. A credit card is 30pt.

If that doesn't work for you then we would just print a 16pt piece and laminate one side with dry erase, but it wouldn't be very sturdy.

Let me know your thoughts at this point.

There's always something! This cheaper route relies on offset press to do the printing and those runs are really large (500 pieces and up), so we could only approximate that with a laser run or with different offset art. Are you open to that? What are your concerns - maybe that will help me tailor a proof for you?

I wanted to let you know that your invoice will be $679 shipped because in my haste I quoted 2 each of 51 (not 55). More importantly, the quote ishigher than the initial estimate below because you have 2 art files rather than 1 - this changes our print from offset to poster printer.

Just trying to keep us on the same page. We're not shady!

Your price is good. My concern is time. I can print it in my shop and get a company in Columbia to laminate it but I'll have about $300 more dollars in it. But no shipping time.  If I sent you the file, how quick could I get it even if we had to add 2 day shipping. It has sequential numbers and barcodes. Attached is a file of half the job. The size changed to 5.1 x 11.

Thanks, Mike! Let's just print the event materials as individual pieces. I'll also need the shot planners as dry erase, if they're not already. Let's move forward with that, as soon as possible.

I'm doing some investigation into what we need for posters. Will get back to you about that!

You need more than one shot planner?

Also, we did them gloss last year. If those worked, no need to change. (FYI, gloss was originally found to be dry erase, then the film was perfected a bit to accept nearly all dry erase markers).

YOUR QUOTE:

We can do all 7 and ship them for $422.

If that is too much, then we can fall back to a gloss film since that is also basically dry erase (gloss lam. was discovered to be dry erase, then someone engineered it to be dry erase - there isn't much difference except for price).

This is a project we will be doing in January, so I do not have the design finished yet.

Here is what I do know:

, and bleed all the way around

2. 3 mil gloss on both sides is perfect

3. You do not need to trim them to the edge, a clear ring of plastic around them is just fine.

4. My client will be using them as if they are dry erase boards

I would be happy too get quotes for you. Here's some things I need to refine your quote:

1. Can you preview the art so I can see how best to print it?

2. Do you want 3 mil gloss both sides (thatis the most common). Other types are matte (good for tradeshows where the lighting is really high) and velvet soft touch.

3. Do you want a clear ring of plastic around the edges (called edge seal) or do you want the laminate to be cut off at the edges (flush cut)

4. What will this be used for? We also have completely synthetic stocks that don't need lamination at all.

Let me know so I can get you the best quote.
